Baby – Overdue But Imminent
This picture was taken last night by Carrie’s partner Alan on his mobile and sent to me. Carrie is now one week overdue but she’s feeling fit and healthy which is good. If she doesn’t go into labour by Wednesday they will take her into hospital where labour will be induced.This ’Papahood’ thing is hard for me, when my wife was pregnant I was involved in everything, breathing classes, all through every stage of labour (puff -pant), I was so involved I done almost everything but give birth. Now I have no choice, no matter how I feel I must take a back seat through most of this remembering that its not my wife, its my daughter and the baby is not my child, its my grandchild. But even thought it’s a different generation I still feel the same paternal/maternal instinct. Am I normal?
Sounds like you will be a fantastic grandad, and your daughter looks great. She must be miserable! (I’m really jealous of her top and the fact that she still fits into anything!)
My wee niece “Carrie” is looking fab and I’m sure she is going to be a wonderful mother, hopefully it will be soon. Can’t wait for the phonecall to tell me I am a great aunt. All her family up here in Glasgow send our love and will see her soon. XXXXX
