Immunisation – OUCH!

The day we’d been dreading arrived today, the first of Gracie’s injections. This one, given at 2 months, protects against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Hib. There’s another at 3-4 months and on at 12 moths.

Well she was fine and laughing before Carrie took her in to the Health Centre but as soon as she arrived it was almost as if she sensed something unpleasant was about to happen, maybe Gracie was picking up the vibesĀ  from her mum. Carrie has not been looking forward to this and I don’t blame her, I remember having to take Jordan my son to get his and it’s not a happy memory for me. Well as you probably figured, Gracie let out a scream as soon as she realised that something painful had happened and continued for some time, until she was out of the Health Centre so I’m told. After that though, she calmed down drank a bottle (of milk that is) and went to sleep. Better to see her sreaming for a few minutes than to watch her suffer from one of the diseases mentioned above.

That was depressing, here’s a happy picture.
