Do Not Open Until Christmas
When I was younger I remember that when someone handed me a Christmas present I was always told, “Do not open until Christmas”, in fact some of the presents even had labels on them which said the very same thing. Now I quite like surprises so I wasn’t one for shaking, squeezing, feeling, smelling, peeling paper, or any of the other techniques that people use to try and guess what the present was and I’m still the same. It can go under the tree and I’ll leave it there until Christmas day.
My kids are the same, Carrie never went near any of the presents under the tree, and Jordan and Hope are the same, they know the presents are theirs and they will get them on Christmas day and they are quite content to wait, I don’t have to shoo them away from the tree or anything like that.

A couple of weeks ago I sent a bag of Christmas presents over to Carries for Gracie. This is going to be her first Christmas but she will be oblivious to what’s going on, next year she will take a more active part. Anyway, I sent these presents over and they were all individually wrapped. One of them (pictured above) was a toy called “Lots of Loops” which I got from Early Learning Centre, they do great toys.

The other day Carrie sent me a photo of Gracie and I was looking at it and thinking my usual “Isn’t she gorgeous” thoughts, when I saw it – the camera never lies – be sure your sins will find you out – there in the corner of the picture was “Lots of Loops” and it wasn’t the 25th of December yet. How could she, I know that I never told Carrie not to open it until Christmas and I never had any labels on them saying that but I thought she would have known. I was straight on the phone and forced a confession out of her after I told her I had the photographic evidence. She said that she only opened that one present and that it was now Gracies favourite toy. Next year I’ll keep Gracie’s presents under my tree.
