The Man At The Gate

Here are the last pictures of Gracie for this year 2007 excuse the picture quality, Carrie has just got a new phone and the camera settings need adjusted.

This year, like most years, for me and for most people, has been a rollercoaster ride of happenings, hurts, and happiness. Tomorrow we step into a new year with all that it has in store for us, good and bad. I’m not one for making New Year resolutions but this coming year 2008 by God’s grace I will try to be a better friend, a better brother, a better husband, a better dad, and a better papa.

I would like to leave you with the lines of a poem by Minnie Louise Harkins (1875-1957) which was included in King George VI Christmas broadcast in 1939

‘I said to the man who stood at the Gate of the Year,
“Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.”
And he replied, “Go out into the darkness, and put your hand into the Hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way.”‘

May that Almighty Hand guide and uphold us all.
