“AWAY THE ‘NOCK!”
“Away the ‘nock!” That was the chant of several thousand people from my home town of Cumnock yesterday when they travelled to Rugby Park, Kilmarnock. The reason being that the local football team, Cumnock Juniors were playing Bathgate Thistle in the final of the Scottish Junior Cup final.
The weather was driech.
The football was dire.
The result was depressing.
The supporters were dissappointed.
Yes, Cumnock, after being 1 – 0 in front with 14 minutes left to play got beat 2 – 1.
The Last time I was at a Cumnock game was 19 years ago, Cumnock won the cup that time and Gracie’s mum was just a baby.
Gracie more than made up for any dissapointment after yesterdays game by posing with the team colours.
