Aunty Hope’s Pink Stookie.

Hope's pink stookie
Sorry I’ve taken so long to post anything, this weeks been very hectic. We arrived home and had a mountain of laundry to do, Gracie to take care of and as if that wasn’t enough Hope had been complaining that her leg was sore for most of the holiday so we decided to take her to A&E (Accident and Emergency) to get it checked out. After getting her leg x-rayed they discovered that it was broken just below the right knee. What was more upsetting was that they told us that it was almost healed as the break occurred 2-3 weeks ago but they decided to put a stookie (plaster cast) on it for added support and protection.
Why didn’t you notice sooner? I can hear you ask. Well six weeks ago Hope had been complaining about her leg and we took her to A&E where they x-rayed it and couldn’t find anything wrong. Hope has been diagnosed with a condition called ‘Type 1 Osteogenesis imperfecta’ O.I for short, also called ‘Brittle Bones’, it’s a genetic defect [click for more info], I also suffer from this condition, hence the wheelchair that those of you who are observant might have noticed appears in some of the posts. So as the name suggests, Hope’s bones break easily, she has had several fractures in her four years, six that we know of, the first one pictured below was when she was less than a year old.

And what about Gracie? Well she’s fine, still gorgeous, still laughing, still smiling, getting bigger by the day. Here’s a bunch of picture taken over the past few days.
