“Hey There My Gracie”

Its Gracie’s 1st birthday today and she will be round after Jordan and Hope finish school for cake and presents and of course I will post birthday pictures later; but some of you might want to know how I feel and what I think about being a papa one year on so I’ve put it into song for Gracie and for you. It’s my version of “Hey There Delilah” by Plain White T’s. I’ve called it “Hey There My Gracie”. The lyrics are below the video clip.

Hey there my Gracie, You are one year old today
I think Papahood is great, wouldn’t have it any other way,
My how you’ve grew, my life has changed because of you,
I swear it’s true.

Hey there my Gracie, Don’t you worry about a thing,
I’m right here if you get lonely, and you know I’ll always sing,
Just close your eyes, Listen to me sing a lullaby;
I’m by your side.

Oh it’s what you mean to me,
Oh it’s what you mean to me,
Oh it’s what you mean to me;
Oh it’s what you mean to me,
what you mean to me.

Hey there my Gracie, I just love it when you smile,
You brighten up the dullest day, when you come over for a while,
We have such fun, until my baby sitting’s done,
then back to mum.

Hey there my Gracie, There is so much I could say,
But if I wrote the words all down, I would be writing for a day,
Or maybe two, I’d fill up pages about you,
the things you do.

Oh it’s what you mean to me,
Oh it’s what you mean to me,
Oh it’s what you mean to me;
Oh it’s what you mean to me,

I blog about you every week, and lots of people have a peek,
To papahood.com they make there way.
My friends sometimes make fun of me, but it’s because they just can’t see,
‘Cause none of them have ever felt this way,
But Gracie I can promise you, that when they are all papas too,
Their lives will never ever be the same…..
Papahood’s to blame!

Hey there my Gracie you be good, we’ll watch the wiggles,
I will try to keep you happy, and I’ll always make you giggle
Like I do, you know it’s all because of you,
We can watch the teletubbies too
Hey there My Gracie here’s to you,
this song’s for you.
