Gracie got her picture taken with an owl. After a nice afternoon we all headed home.

I was chilling after my Chinese when the phone rings and Carrie informs me that Gracie has shoved a bead up her nose and they can’t get it out. So at 9:00pm off we go to hospital to see what they can do. After a wait a nurse came with tweezers and had a go but she couldn’t get it out. Another wait and a junior Doctor came and had a look but she didn’t even attempt to remove it. After another wait a different doctor came through with her tools. She used something I can only describe as a nostril spreader to widen the nostril and something like a long, very thin crochet hook and a few seconds later out popped the bead. We all arrived home just before midnight, quite an eventful day.

Gracie gave no explanation as to why she shoved a bead up her nose but I did a quick bit of research and found it’s not unusual for kids to stick things up their noses. Here is the top ten:
